Rawhide Braiding

Rawhide braiding is the cowboys’ craft. It is taking the hide from a cow that may have otherwise been discarded and turning it into something beautiful and useful.

There are 5 basic steps to rawhide braiding.

1. Skinning the animal.
2. Dehairing the hide.
3. Stretching the hide.
4. Cutting the hide into strings.
5. Braiding.
